My dining table and chairs

As we're still in lockdown and work is more limited I decided to update my own dining table and chairs, something I've been meaning to do for ages, but just haven't had the time. I love this table, but it was desperate for rubbing down, it had so many ring marks and stains, because of what I do I felt embarrassed by it! Anyway, I wanted it to match in with my room, the walls are pewter grey and white. I love the beautiful grains that you get in wood and so wherever possible I don't like to paint over it, but instead rub it down and stain it. I did however, choose a Rustoleum paint for the legs and skirts, they have just started to do a satin range so I was very excited (sad I know!) to try it. I was very pleased with the results.

And now for the chairs! Again I love my wood grain so I decided to do a combination of paint and varnish in order for it to match in. I decided to do all the legs in the satin grey and the rest I varnished. Then for the seat pads, for a change I choose a fabric rather than a leatherette so I ordered some material off the internet and prayed it would match! I have reupholstered these chairs before so I knew what to do with my staplegun. I do love my updated table chairs and I'm so glad we have kept them rather than buying new.

Finally......
