Plant Stand

When I saw this plant stand I immediately knew I could breath new life into it. I had a floral wall paper which I knew would be perfect and I based my design and colour scheme around it. I started by giving the whole thing an undercoat. The wallpaper has a deep blue background, I had the perfect blue paint to match it and decided to paint the top and legs in blue before I decoupaged the paper onto the legs. Then to contrast and complement the blue, I chose a beautiful fern green for the shelves and insides of the legs. Finally I coated it all in Polyvine dead flat matt water based varnish to seal it. It all came together really well and I was very pleased with the finished product which is a great unit for storage of books and magazines and also for displaying plants, and photos or pictures.
